Driving & Parking Directions
u
Though the new campus is directly across I-35 from the current
BUA campus at 8019 S. Pan Am Expressway, you will
need to drive
to the far side of the new campus for the
Groundbreaking.
u
Take I-35 from either direction and exit Zarzamora
u
At Zarzamora, head
south (take a left if coming from
downtown and a right if coming from
the far South side)
u
Take a right on
Hutchins and a left on Ansley Blvd. (new street)
Look for parking area along the street near
groundbreaking site.
Student council greeters will guide you.
The event will last approximately 35 minutes and be followed by
refreshments of lemonade, fresh fruit and raspas prepared by
Jenny Villamar and staff so please linger and
enjoy the morning.
A tent with 100 chairs will be in place for the
event. Students and
staff should give our many guests ample
opportunity to find a seat
before filling in the seats when the event
begins.

Student
Workers Needed for Donor Phone Bank
The new campus
groundbreaking this month signals the launch of the public phase
of BUA's fundraising campaign called Crossing Over Together.
An important part of this fundraising effort will be phone calls
made by students to donors asking them if they have received our
brochures in the mail and if they have any questions about our
plans.
The Advancement Office is
looking for students who speak English and Spanish to earn work
study hours by making phone calls on the evenings of September
18 - 20. A training session will be held for all phone bank
workers on Thursday, September 14. Students with a social
security number are eligible to earn work study credits to their
tuition. Pizza will also be provided on the evenings of the
phone bank. Contact Roxane Lopez if interested,
rlopez1@bua.edu or call
x246.
New Student
Video Team Looking for More Team Members
BUA students have great stories
to tell, and a new team of students is organizing to interview
students and edited those conversations into videos that we can
share with donors and other prospective students. We are looking
for student team members who have an interest in all phases of
production from pre-production planning, interviewing skills,
camera operators and video editing. We have already assembled
some talented students with Danny Ortiz leading out as
Production Manager of the team. Contact Danny at
dortiz@bua.edu or
danomojica@yahoo.com
to learn more. The next meeting of the student video team will
be Friday, September 1 at 5:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
