Dr. David Maltsberger Digs Jordon!
Dr. David
Maltsberger sends new semester greetings from atop an
archeological
"tel," or hill, at Tel el-Hammam, Jordon where he is
pictured here on right with
Hussein Aljarrah of the
Jordanian Department of Antiquities:
"I remain in Jordan through Jan 18th excavating at
Tall el-Hammam (sponsored by Trinity Southwest University
of New Mexico), a site thought by many to be the biblical
Sodom. Currently supervising the excavation of a large Iron
Age palace on the acropolis of the city, as well as a
monumental public building and domestic quarter along the
city wall. The site was destroyed in a huge conflagration of
fire that collapsed the upper stories of homes and buildings.
Other than that, I am just hanging out. Today I visited
Mount Nebo and the remains of the Byzantine Church
commemorating Moses and the city of Madaba with its
Byzantine mosaic map of the holy land....
Greetings from Jordan!"

BUA
student Roland Villarreal has requested prayer for
his wife Holly who is currently expecting a child and
is experiencing some complications. Holly has recently
suffered from blackouts, and the doctors are attributing
this to scar tissue on the brain from a previous concussion.
The concern is that a seizure might occur that could affect
the oxygen supply
to the baby and cause brain damage. The
doctors cannot give her medication to deter the seizures
until her 3rd trimester because the medication could
potentially cause abnormalities
in the baby. Doctors say
that reduced stress will help reduce the chances of a
seizure occurring, so they are praying that God will provide
the financial stability to allow Holly to stay home to
avoid
the pressures of work. Please pray for the health of Holly
and the baby, and that God’s
will be done. Also, pray for
Roland, as he is concerned for his wife and child.

We
received a prayer request from our brother Gilberto
Ibarra. He is asking us to pray for his 6 years old son,
Dylan, who has Down's syndrome and now is having
breathing problems.

prayer of a godly person is powerful. It makes things
happen” James 5:16
