1. Assistant Professor of Cross-Cultural Business Leadership

General Description
Baptist University of the Américas is seeking a qualified faculty member to teach in the newly created and accredited Bachelor of Arts in Cross-Cultural Business Leadership. This is a tenure-track position. A master’s degree in Business, Organizational Leadership, or similar field is required; a doctoral degree in one of these fields is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of experience as a faculty member in higher education or a minimum of five years of experience in business or organizational leadership positions. Experience in cross-cultural work and/or academic environment is required. Baptist University of the Américas is an institution affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Interested candidates must be committed Christians actively involved in the local church.

Appointment:

· Faculty appointment (tenure track)

Responsibilities:

· Conduct or oversee curriculum design, implementation and evaluation
processes for the newly created undergraduate major at Baptist University of the Américas.

· Teach undergraduate courses in Business, Administration, or Organizational Leadership areas.

· Assist VP for Academic Affairs in identifying and recruiting adjunct faculty to teach in areas of need for the BA in Cross-Cultural Business Leadership degree.

· Advise students in their career plan and academic development.

· Collaborate with the BUA faculty to promote a productive academic and Christian environment.

· Serve in academic, service, or administrative committees to promote the achievement of the mission of the University.

· Carry out day-to-day management activities associated with classroom instruction and academic programs.

· Represent the University at appropriate professional, academic, and denominational settings.

Qualifications & Competencies:

· Preference for a doctoral degree in Business, Business
Administration, Organizational Leadership or related areas;
a master’s degree is required

· At least three years teaching experience in higher education or at least five years of working experience in organizational leadership settings.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Effective interpersonal skills

· Ability to collaborate and to promote collaboration in higher education

· Active membership and involvement in a local church,
preferably Baptist

A Master’s degree in Spanish, Romance Languages, or similar field is required with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Spanish language and literature; a doctoral degree in these fields is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of experience as a faculty member in higher education or a minimum of five years of overall teaching experience in Spanish.
