REVEREND CARL JOHNSON
Reverend Carl Johnson was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and was reared in Kansas City, Kansas. He is the son of the late Dr. A.L. Johnson, Sr., and Mrs. Eddie Mae Johnson. Reverend Johnson was licensed by and ordained from the New Light Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, Kansas, where his father was pastor.
Doctor Johnson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1971 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City; a Masters of Religious Education Degree in 1978 from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Kansas; and a Doctor of Ministry Degree in 1987 from Saint Paul School of Theology, Kansas City, Missouri.
Doctor Johnson has led workshops, seminars, and revivals throughout the country. In 1996, he led the first revival experience at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He has served as Pastor of Ninth Street Baptist Church, Lawrence, Kansas; Park Avenue Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri; New Hope Baptist Church, Anchorage, Alaska; and presently serves Greater Corinth Baptist Church, San Antonio, Texas. Doctor Johnson served as an Instructor at American International Bible College and Seminary in San Antonio, and has served as an adjunct Professor for Wayland University and Saint Paul School of Theology.
For 1998-1999, Doctor Carl Johnson was elected President of the Baptist Ministers’ Union, San Antonio and Vicinity.
He is married to the former Helen M. Ellis, and they are the parents of two daughters; Arla Janeen and Daphnee Elaine.
