Come join us for chapel on Tuesday, March 20th as Ginger Geyer makes a visual arts presentation.

Austin artist Ginger Geyer grew up in Arkansas, earned BFA and MFA degrees from SMU (majoring in painting, art history, and museum education). Her first career was in art museums, as she served as conservation lab intern at the Kimbell Art Museum, followed by 13 years in education, collections management, and planning at the Dallas Museum of Art, culminating as Deputy Director for Planning.

Teaching and public speaking has been a continual part of Geyer’s career, from small workshops for homeless artists, to national conferences on museology, and the Glen Workshop in Santa Fe. In 1990 she originated the visual arts programs for Laity Lodge, a retreat center supported by the H.E. Butt Foundation, where she continues to teach at retreats, curate exhibitions, and coordinate artist/writers retreats and the art studio workshops.

She and her husband Rick have two children, who are both graduated from college and thriving in their own careers.
