A native of San Antonio, Texas, Jimmy has lived in Fort Worth, Corsicana, San Antonio, Duncanville and now Uvalde, Texas.
His ministerial experience includes serving as pastor of Baptist churches in Miles, Corsicana, Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas. Additionally, he has served as Associate Director of Missions of San Antonio Baptist Association, Ethnic Missions Coordinator and Director of Hispanic Ministries of the Baptist General Convention of Texas and Adjunct Professor in the School of Christian Faith of Dallas Baptist University.
Garcia studied at Howard Payne University in Brownwood and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Truett Seminary, Baylor University for his doctoral degree. Garcia has also been honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree from Howard Payne.
Garcia’s greatest enjoyment is spending time with his wife, Dolores Garcia and his family. They have four grown children: Laura, Matthew, Anna, son-in-law Ken and have been blessed with three grandchildren: Kayla, Andrew and Brenden. Garcia’s hobbies include playing golf, reading history books, historical novels, listening to all genres of music and watching Western movies.
