Come to chapel on Thursday, April 19th and hear Dr. Phil Christopher, Senior Pastor , FBC Abilene preach.
Rev. Christopher has been a pastor at four different churches and a minister of one. He has been Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Abilene, since 1995. He has participated in many services and activities such as Clinical Pastoral Education, Oklahoma Baptist Medical Center, has been Chair, Eunice Chambless Hospitality House Board of Directors, Abilene, Texas, 1996-2000. He is the author of Parables from the Diamond: Meditations for Men on Baseball and Life.
He has been married for more than 35 years to Mary Marable, has two children: Jeremy Philip and Natalie Anne. He was appointed to the Pastoral Ministry on November 16, 1975, Second Baptist Church, in Lubbock, Texas.
Christopher obtained a B.A. in Sociology from Baylor University, Waco, Texas and an M.Div from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky. There he obtained his Master of Divinity in 1978.
