Student User Guide
The Collection
The Collection is housed in the LRC (building 3) and divided according to the following sections:
Circulating: These books can be checked out of the Library for two weeks. Reference: These materials are available for use in the library only. Reserve: These materials are available for use in the library only. Newspapers: Are available for use in the library.
San Antonio Express (Daily) The Baptist Standard (Weekly)
Print Journals: no list of titles for print journals. Electronic Journals: Are available through the World Wide Web using a special access code and password. Audio/Visual: These materials circulate for one week.
Current journals, magazines, and newsprint items are in alphabetical order and located in display shelves.
HOW TO CHECK OUT A BOOK:
Start by going to the online catalog. Search by topic, title, author, or keyword. Locate your book on the self. Take books to the front desk and show your ID to the staff person. Books will be checked out for 14 days. Check out up to seven items (books, videos, or cassettes) in any combination, but only four books on the same subject.
Assistance is always provided for your convenience.
Computer Service
Two computers are designated for the Online Catalog; the others can be used for:
Internet Research Access to Electronic Indexes Word Processing E-mail
Computer users must sign in and out at the Public Services desk. Priority of use is given to those doing research.

Additional Services
Three "Quiet Study" areas in the LRC facility. Copy Service: Self serve; $ 0.10 per copy. Cassette Copy Services: $ 0.75 each; individuals provide the blank cassette. Printer Service: Notify the staff person before printing; you will be charged $ 0.05 per print plus tax.
More Services
Audio cassette player, video cassette player, and monitor are available for use in the LRC. Interlibrary Loan The LRC also sponsors various programs available to the students throughout the academic year. Most programs are free for BUA students. Announcements regarding these events are posted in the LRC, in the administration building, and on the website.
