BUA Hosts Board of Trustees Dinner

On Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, BUA hosted the Winter Board of Trustees Dinner. Dr. Abraham Jaquez welcomed attendees and started the evening with a prayer. Afterward, the night started with worship time guided by staff member and alumni, Bailey Rosas.

The evening continued with a focus on celebrating the diverse experiences and achievements within the BUA community. Yamileth Guzman from El Salvador, Amanda Andino, and Marix Paola Marquez Salinas from Honduras shared their journeys and the transformative work they are undertaking and how God has been using BUA to elevate their callings to new heights. Moreover, they shared the richness of their cultures through traditional food from their countries, presenting an array of dishes that highlighted the cross-cultural exchange that is so characteristic of BUA.

In addition to current international students, international alumni like Timothy Saw from Myanmar, shared their testimonies, highlighting the global impact of BUA across generations. Also, a significant moment of the evening was the introduction of Dr. Ruben Cayoja as the new Communications Specialist, marking a new phase in BUA’s dedication to communication and outreach.

As the evening drew to a close, Dr. Gabriel Cortes offered a prayer, asking the Lord for blessings upon all present – trustees, staff, and students alike – dedicating the collective efforts of the year ahead to Christ’s glory, a reaffirmation of BUA’s commitment to equipping students to become cross-cultural servant leaders.

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” – Romans 12:4-5
