The Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) provides financial assistance to Texas Baptist students preparing for church-related ministries and vocations.

First Time Applicant Form – Download and submit if this is your first time applying for this program.

Renewal Applicant Form – Download and submit if you have applied for MFA before.

Deadline to apply for MFA program – August 7, 2026

Applicants must: (1) be high school graduates pursuing studies at schools and colleges owned, controlled, or supervised by state or area religious conventions cooperating with the Southern Baptist Convention or its successors; (2) maintain at least a minimum passing cumulative grade point average and (3) be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) unless it is the student's last semester before graduation.

Fall Term: Applications and transcripts are accepted between June 1 ─ July 15
Spring Term: Between December 15 ─ January 10 (transcript only)

The Ed E. and Gladys Hurley Foundation is pleased to provide annual scholarships to recognize students who wish to study to become ministers, missionaries, or religious workers of the Protestant faith. Students must be enrolled in colleges and universities located in the state of Texas. The maximum amount available to each student in one academic year is $1,000.00.

The Mary Hill Davis Ethnic/Minority Scholarship Program, provides grants to help worthy, capable young people from ethnic /minority cultures receive a Christian education. Click here to apply.
