Kyle Ashley serves as the Department Chair of the Business Leadership Program (BLP) and Assistant Professor at Baptist University of the Américas (BUA).

Professor Ashley began his service at BUA as an adjunct professor in 2009. He was asked to serve as a full time faculty member in 2012. In Fall 2014, he was asked to serve as the Interim Chair of the BLP, and has served as the full-time Chair of the BLP since Spring 2014.

Prior to serving at BUA, Professor Ashley, served full-time in ministry, as Pastor to students, college students, and young adults at Westoak Woods Baptist Church, in Austin, TX, from 2006 – 2010. Professor Ashley also served as an adjunct faculty instructor for Marylhurst University and City University of the Americas, teaching in various courses in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs from 2002 – 2005. Professor Ashley has over 19 years of industry experience serving in the high tech industry, and has served at multinational organizations including NIKE, Acer, and National Instruments. Professor Ashley also owns an energy efficiency business, Green Building Energy Services, a Business as Mission venture where the organization serves the local and state communities, and employs individuals which need a second chance in life.

Professor Ashley received a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, from Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Edwards University in Austin, TX. He is currently in a doctoral program at George Fox University, in Newberg, OR.

Professor Ashley resides in Austin, TX, where he served as a full-time pastor, Deacon, and currently worships with his wife Betty Deaton, and two children Peyton and Veronica, who attend Regents School of Austin, a private Christian school, in southwest Austin, TX.
