Overview & Academics
The Baptist University of the Américas offers a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical/Theological Studies. BUA is committed to the formation of cross-cultural Christian leaders. This degree prepares our students to be 21st century Christian leaders who are able to navigate among different cultures and ethnicities. Our graduates have used this degree to fulfill their calling in many capacities as: pastors, associate pastors, youth ministries, education ministers, worship leaders, singles’ ministers, missionaries, church planters, denominational workers, case workers for children and youth in need, and chaplaincies in hospitals. Also, students enrolled in the B.A. in Biblical/Theological Studies program have used this degree as a basis for graduate studies at theological seminaries and schools of theology accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.
The B.A. degree in Biblical/Theological Studies provides a general education base, scholarly biblical background and practical ministerial education. Our students graduate with an excellent understanding of the Word of God, themselves, their calling, the world they are called to serve, and most importantly, their Lord and Savior.
The flexibility of our program allows students to have a minor concentration in Business Leadership, Human Behavior, Music, Spanish, and in different ministry emphasis such as the pastorate, youth ministry, children ministries, discipleship/church education, pastoral care, and missions.
The minimum number of semester credit hours required for the B.A. in Biblical/Theological studies, including the Core Curriculum requirements, is one-hundred and twenty (120). Forty-eight (48) of the total semester credit hours required for the degree must be at the upper-division level.
