Student Housing at Baptist University of the Américas is for full-time students. Full-time equals to 12 hours of enrollment for the semester on the English as a Second Language program or the Associate or Bachelor degree programs. For Master degree students, full-time status equals 9 hours of enrollment per semester.
Prospective students seeking to apply for campus housing, must first apply for admission to the university and be accepted as a student. You can start this process by clicking on the “APPLY NOW” link at the top of this page. Upon acceptance, the student can apply for housing on their student portal. If their housing application is approved, they can proceed with paying their housing deposit to secure their space.
Current students seeking to apply for campus housing, must complete the housing application in the housing portal. If their housing application is approved, they can proceed with paying their housing deposit to secure their space.
Housing deposits are $300 for dormitories (single students); $770 and $935 respectively for one and two-bedroom apartments (married students). The deposit is refundable upon vacancy of the room or apartment, if no damage or unusual wear and tear is found during the facilities exit review. A student who moves into campus housing and subsequently moves out prior to the end of the semester forfeits their deposit.
Move-In Dates
Move-in to student housing begins the week before each semester starts and ends on September 15 for the fall semester and February 15 for the spring semester. These are the only times when students can move into campus housing. Please plan accordingly so that your transition to live in the university is a smooth one.
Background checks will be required for housing applicants and, where applicable, for all household members 18 and older. Negative background checks will not necessarily disqualify the applicant from studying at the University but may determine whether or not the applicant will be authorized to live on campus.
Pet Policy: Only service animals are allowed on campus. The University defines a Service Animal as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability. Other animals, whether domestic or wild, do not qualify as Service Animals and are not allowed in university property.
