Private Security Company
BUA contracts with a local company to provide overnight security to campus residents. Security officers patrol the property regularly, oversee who comes in and out of the university, and are ready to contact and assist emergency personnel if needed.
Gated Access
The university has a security gate open during class times but closed when classes are not in session and all night. When closed, campus residents use a code to enter. All others show a picture I.D. to the security officer and are allowed in if they're coming to visit a resident or are attending a special event.
Resident Assistants
Each single student dormitory is assigned a Resident Assistant (RA). R.A.s have many responsibilities. One of their main responsibilities is ensuring everyone in their dorm is safe and feels secure. They attentively look for the well-being of their students and in case of emergency, are ready to respond and contact 911 or the on-site Facilities Coordinator.
Additional Information
The university is less than 2 miles from the nearest police station, and our Facilities Coordinator resides on campus. Additionally, our team is constantly looking to install more security cameras, improve lighting, etc.
